    Great blog. I have one thing to say about writing competitions, and that is – the organizations that sponsor competitions should always have the right NOT to award a winner if the submissions just aren’t worthy.

    I read manuscripts all the time that are “award-winning” yet they really aren’t even marketable. The fact is, the organizations giving these awards didn’t get any great manuscripts, so they ended up simply selecting the “best of the worst” and that really doesn’t do anyone any good.
